This is one of the best hidden treasures in Newport News for fantastic Yemeni food. (Middle Eastern) I ordered the Mandi combo which is a half chicken and lamb marinated so tastefully and cooked to perfection. It is so tender and delicious that it falls off the bone. It is served over herbed jasmine rice. It literally falls off the bone. Served with a green pepper salsa on the side. We had fresh Chai as a beverage. Absolutely delicious. This is a communal type of eating so the plates feed a few people. We finished off our meal with baklava. Yummy. We sat in a private enclosed booth with a couch. The music and atmosphere take your mind out of the hustle and bustle of NN. And they are very friendly and you feel invited in. We were definitely impressed and are going back soon.

Insanely good food here- the big platter is an incredible deal for easily 4-6 people. Every single bite we had was incredible, and we plan to visit here every time we are in the area! Best hummus and baba ganoush I've ever had. If thats all I had for dinner I'd still rate 5 stars lol. The booths with couches are so comfortable and private too, loved that.

Came across this restaurant on an app called TooGoodToGo and we are just beyond impressed. The dishes were beyond good, with so much flavor and all fresh ingredients, not to mention huge portions. The owners were super friendly and kind, telling us they joined the app to help with affordable healthy food when so many people don’t have access to it. 10/10 recommend.

Clean and so so good and fresh. I ordered chicken kabob over rice and the chicken was just like grilled chicken. $14.99 large portions 10/10 I would order again.

My wife and I decided to try this place tonight after passing by it the whole week. We got the family platter with the lamb fasha, and it did not disappoint at all. The food came out fresh, hot, and it was simply amazing. The atmosphere is amazing, the employees were great too.

My husband and I have been wanting to try Shibam Yemeni Kitchens for a while and today was a perfect day since it’s our anniversary. The food was amazing, the ambience and we were welcomed and checked on a couple of times. We had a private booth with doors which was really nice. Highly recommend. Will definitely be going back.
